THE SOIL! When volcanoes erupt they launch ash and rock everywhere. These rocks contains natural occurring glass in them which contains minerals. The rocks do not weather away easy and so the minerals stay in them but the glass weathers very easily releasing those minerals in the surrounding soil and making the soil GREAT for farming!
I wouldn't think so. How would people get to the bottom of the volcano? The massive drilling should be from the other side of the earth, leading to the bottom of the volcano. Is it possible (at least hypothetically?)
because =)

It is difficult to provide an exact number as populations near the Tambora volcano can fluctuate. However, there are several villages and settlements located in close proximity to the volcano that may be at risk in the event of an eruption.
