Because it is a site where people answer the random questions of other people.. Simple enough.

There are. There are plenty of people on this site who answer questions on this site. The thing is; there are not enough answerers for all the questions that come in. You'll see people on this site with thousands of answers that haven't even put a dent in all the questions on this site. Also many questions go unanswered when they are not categorized because at that point, they are put in the overflowing "uncategorized" category.

Why do so many people who are dumb answer questions on this site?
Since "dumb" describes someone who cannot/will not speak, there may be some people of that ilk who answer questions here. If you are implying that people of questionable intelligence frequent this site, this site has no IQ requirement for participation. Feel free to flag improperly answered questions - or correct it if you can.

There are many people answering the questions on this site. Some are scholars, some are not. It is a wiki, which basically means that anyone can come and ask or answer questions on the site. Kind of a collaborative community, trying to answer each other's questions.
