Humans are unique from other species in the fact that they care so much for each other. Were the only to put ourselves in dangers way to help out others. Humans have been remembering their dead for years- take ancient Egypt, along with other countries, they believed in reincarnation so they wanted to prepare the dead the best they could for the next life. Otherwise throughout life we make connections with people, and whether we want to or not we make bonds with everyone we meet- and when someone dies you have no more time to spend with them, all we have is our memories- so we dwell on those when we see a picture or hear of them, to take place of actually spending time with them. Another thing, humans are obsessed with fame, while they're alive and after they're gone- we want to leave an impact, we want to be of some significance and we want to be important to others.
