The Original Writing doesn't have errors, but all other verses do! there's many added words and even Mark 16:9 on was added to later manuscripts. Paul's writings are very hard to understand says Peter, but unless we study and check these mistakes out, the meaning gets changed on some scriptures. We also must study with a Jewish mind-set because it was written to the Israelites and our Messiah is Jewish!

Answer:

Some people may say that, because no one likes to be told that "they are wrong"... or that "their beliefs" are wrong. And if they happen to base their beliefs on the books of The Bible -- some might say that.

Other people say that the Bible is a book of errors.

Those whom God is calling out of the world "Believe" God's Word, the Bible, because Jesus states: "...THY WORD IS TRUTH." (John 17:17]... and "Truth is errorless.

However, they also understand that it was the "originally inspired" writings of Scripture that were without errors -- NOT THE SUBSEQUENT TRANSLATIONS that came along later.

There is no shortage of people in the world who read the Bible, who PREFER a certain translation of the Scriptures over this one or that one... or all the others -- recognizing [or merely 'sensing'] the built-in human errors of different translations.

Errors, then, should be expected when "less-than-inspired" men make their attempts at translating the original manuscripts [some of which don't use them at all, but use other translations].

Those who "continue in God's Word," however [John 8:31-32], study the Bible... comparing translations... comparing original manuscripts. And they "have God's Holy Spirit dwelling in them" to guide their understanding of the Scriptures... and reveal to them the Truth sometimes "hidden" therein -- errors notwithstanding.

People who may say, unequivocally, that "the Bible [all Bibles] does not contain errors" have probably never read it... and most certainly haven't studied it.

Even a believer in the "errorless Truth" of the Bible who do study it [and Trust in its Words]... will have their "favorite translation" which they believe is better than all the others -- yet, still contains "human errors" that they must overlook... because God has revealed His Understandingto their hearts.

People have been expounding the errors of God's Word from the beginning. That's what Eve was told in the Garden of Eden.

And Jesus' disciples thought they had the Scriptures all figured out -- until Jesus "opened their minds and hearts" to the True Understanding of the Scriptures [Luke 24:45].

The fact is... all the different Bible translations contain all kinds of different errors. Some translators have copied them straight out of other translations into theirs.

But, mostly... error begins within the reader of the most error-free translation of the Bible [whichever one that may be]. Those who go in "without God," thinking that they "already know what the Bible says." And if and when they actually read it, don't believe it because it doesn't jibe with what they've always believed or have been taught.

Some people say the Bible does not contain errors because they haven't read the different translations of the Bible... much less studied them.

Those called by God who continue in the "Living Word of God" know better than to say such a thing... and trust in the Holy Spirit's guidance in this and all other matters.

"For the Word of God is LIVING and ACTIVE. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it Judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." (Heb.4:12 NIV)

God's elect recognize the errors in man's translations of God's Living Word... and overlook it because God has placed the Truth and THE LIFE of it in their hearts.

If the Bible is inerrant then why are there many historical and archaeological errors?

A:Yes, there are numerous historical and archaeological errors in the Bible. We therefore have to decide whether to continue to believe it is inerrant and, if so, what we mean by this. Some would say the Bible is inerrant on matters of faith, but not necessarily on history. Others would say if we find apparent errors in the Bile, then we have misunderstood the text, possibly for many centuries, and must reinterpret it. Of course, others would say that the Bible is the truly inerrant word of God and can not contain errors, and that if we read the Bible with total faith then those errors will just disappear.

Does the Bible contain errors?

No the bible does not have any errors in it. ___ It depends on who you talk to what answer you are going to get. I believe that there are translation errors, yes, after having it passed down and retranslated so many times by many people, some of which had an agenda and made mistakes or changed things on purpose... although I also think you can still get a lot of good out of it and that there are many incredible truths contained in the Bible. Other people think that it is perfect as is. Other people don't think that it is inspired by God at all.

What does it mean to say that the Bible is the Word of God?

What is meant by saying that the Bible is the inspired word of God?

Some who believe that the Bible is the word of God say it was literally told to the authors by God himself, and therefore is infallible. Others believe that the Bible was inspired by God and, although it can contain errors of history and science, it is infallible on matters of faith. There is no evidence of either, so neither view can be be put forward as more correct than the other.
