People probably think that Barack Obama is the anti-Christ because they do not support his views and had "hoped for the better" (in a Republican's perspective) during the presidential campaign - meaning they had either wanted McCain to win, or were not supporting either of the two.

Another possible reason would be that those who own those thoughts are afraid of change and do not believe, as said before due to not supporting his views upon right and wrong, that the change he shall bring to our country is for the better.

It's rather difficult to say "why" with solid facts because the question leads to answers that mainly lie upon one's own perspective or views and opinions.
