There are many reasons why a person may feel their only option is to commit suicide. Clincal mental illness such as depression and psychotic conditions can be a major contributing factor, as well as any range of negative circumstances a person may experience such as loss of relationship, employment, death of a loved one etc.
Someone may feel an extreme sense of isolation and helplessness that leads down the road to suicidal thoughts.
