Gravity is the sole thing that makes us weigh less on the Moon than on Earth. Because weight is the measure of gravitational force exerted on something, it lessens on the Moon because the Moon has less gravity exerted on someone or something compared to Earth. But a smaller weight on the Moon does not mean a smaller mass. This is so because mass is the amount of matter someone or something has, and it never changes no matter where the person or thing is.

What does the moon not have in common with the earth?

The moon is way smaller than the earth and its gravity level is lower. Which makes people weigh less on the moon.

Do you way more on earth or on the moon?

You would weigh way less on the moon. For example. If you weighed 100 pounds on Earth, you would weigh 16.6 pounds on the moon.

The pull of gravity on the moon is 0.17 times on earth's on which planet would you weigh less?

Your question is very unclear, but the gravity of the Moon is 1/6 the amount of Earth's gravity. So, you would way 1/6 the amount on the Moon. You would way less on the Moon.

How do astronaut's move on the moon compered with the earth?

There is less gravity on the moon than earth. Earth has a lot of gravity which is why things feel heavy and fall as quick as they do. The moon has way, way less gravity therefore it feels like you are weightless and drift a little.

Why do objects weigh less at the equator than at the moon?

Yes they do because the gravity is less the moon. But on earth so you are likely to have a smaller mass on the moon then on earth. But in a way you feel lighter you are still the same weight on earth then on the moon

How come you would move differently on the earth than on the moon?

The mass of the moon is less than then the mass of the earth therefore the gravitational forces are less on the moon. It therefore allows people to take bigger strides or hops on the moon.

What force acts on an astronaut standing still on the moon?

Gravity, mainly that of the moon. Gravity on the Moon is a lot less than on Earth but it works in the same way.

Why do people weigh one sixths as much as the moon?

That is because the Moon has less gravity. This, in turn, is due to its lower mass.

Why does the moon appear less lit?

The moon appears less bright because of the molecules on it and the no gravity parts. It has people on there every decade or so, which changes the way it rotates and other parts of the world see it brighter. The US may see the darker side because of being farther from the Equator.
