Though causation is still uncertain, there certainly is a significant correlation between high intelligence and Asperger's. Aspies also tend to have a logical and methodical approach to things, which can easily be perceived as higher intelligence, and we get easily obsessed (or at least overly interested) in specific topics.

Does Radha Mitchell have Asperger's Syndrome?

From interviews with her about the movie Mozart and the Whale in which she played a character with Asperger's Syndrome, it would seem very unlikely that she has it. She said that she learned about autism and Asperger's Syndrome when working on the movie. She also explained that "they" (people with autism or Asperger's Syndrome) see the world from a different perspective. She seems to use "they" and "their" for people with autism or Asperger's Syndrome, while using "we" and "us" for people without autism or Asperger's Syndrome, so I would assume that she does not have it.

Do people with Asperger's Syndrome also suffer from face blindness?

Some, but not all, people with Asperger's Syndrome (AS) suffer from face blindness (prosopagnosia), a condition in which they have difficulty with facial recognition. It is one of the conditions known to occur occasionally with autism and Asperger's Syndrome. Some people with AS have traits that seem similar to face blindness but is not. A person with Asperger's Syndrome who avoids looking at people will have difficulty identifying them by face. A person with Asperger's Syndrome might only look at a person's mouth and not other parts of the face.

How much more common is Asperger's Syndrome than autism?

Asperger's Syndrome is a subtype of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), therefore they are not separate conditions. In the DSM-5, Asperger's Syndrome is no longer a diagnosis, it has been folded into the broader category of ASD.

Did Jane Austen have Asperger's Syndrome?

There is no definitive evidence to suggest that Jane Austen had Asperger's Syndrome. Some scholars have speculated that her reserved and observant nature could be consistent with traits associated with the condition, but it remains speculative and cannot be confirmed without further evidence.

Christopher has Asperger's Syndrome and what according to him are his behavioral problems?

If you need to know what his behavioral problems are according to him, you should ask him. He could have problems similar to other people with Asperger's Syndrome. He might become violent or freeze up when stressed. He might seem disruptive due to sensory overload issues. There are many possibilities.

Stereotypically what do people with Asperger's Syndrome like and dislike?

Asperger's Syndrome is not well-known, so there are not widespread stereotypes of people with Asperger's Syndrome. Thus, at this point in time, there is not an answer to the question. However, there are some typical likes and dislikes of people with Asperger's Syndrome. Each person is different, so these are generalizations based on common tendencies.- They like justice; they dislike unfairness.- They like routines; they dislike not knowing what is expected.- They dislike crowds.- They prefer a complete understanding of a situation so that it makes sense (is logical).- They dislike unexpected changes.- They prefer communication that is literal and straightforward, without innuendo or implied messages.A:Agreed with all of the above, but I'd like to add: Many that have tried it seem to like Roleplaying.

Does Atticus Shaffer have Asperger's Syndrome or autism?

The actor Atticus Shaffer is not described as having autism or Asperger's Syndrome (AS), and details about him do not make it seem likely. The character he plays on the television series The Middle, Brick, is "quirky" and has symptoms that make it seem possible that the character has an autism spectrum disorder, but the character is not identified as having one on the show.

What is the course that Asperger's Syndrome takes in a person?

Asperger's Syndrome is a genetic condition, not a disease, so "course" might not be the most appropriate term. It is likely that a person is born with a genetic susceptibility to autism or Asperger's Syndrome, and then an environmental factor (possibly a prenatal one) triggers the condition. The following is a very brief description of the "course" of Asperger's Syndrome. Since people with Asperger's Syndrome have average to above average intelligence, the child will have normal cognitive development and is likely to have normal language development. Also, the child will not make typical eye contact and will not respond to other people in the way that most children do. As language use continues to develop, it will start to sound atypical. More symptoms will become apparent as the child encounters new situations. During the teen years, many symptoms could become apparent. However, by the time the person reaches adulthood, he or she has likely learned some adaptations that make him or her seem less atypical.

Is worrying a Symptom of Asperger's Syndrome?

Anyone can worry. So I wouldn't go so far as to say it's a sign of Aspergers, yet, from personal experence, the people I have known with Aspergers do seem to worry more than a lot of other people.

Did Thomas Jefferson have Asperger's Syndrome?

We cannot know after the fact whether he had Asperger's Syndrome (AS), but biographical descriptions of him do not indicate the collection of symptoms that would make it likely that he had one. So, it is probably more likely that he did not have it than that he did. However, if he did have AS, it is possible that those characteristics that would have made it seem more likely that he had AS were not recorded or minimized as little quirks or eccentricities. Traits that make some people think he might have had Asperger's Syndrome are that he grew marijuana, was worried about being buried alive, and allegedly had to borrow money for his inauguration ceremony. One hypothesis is that he grew marijuana to self-medicate Asperger's Syndrome, self-medicating being something that some people with autism spectrum disorders, ADD, or depression do with intoxicants. Another is that his fear of being buried alive and thus instructed that burial be postponed three days to be sure he was dead indicates a perseverative fear and adherence to an ineffective ritual, a trait occurring in some people with Asperger's Syndrome. The need to borrow money is thought to possibly indicate the poor money management skills of some people with Asperger's Syndrome.
