Why do plants need hormones that have the opposite effects
Protein hormones that need second messenger to activate a target cell are hydrophobic. They therefore need these second messengers in order to penetrate into the cell membrane. steroid hormones are hydrophilic so they do not need second messengers.
Plants need are so that they can take it in and use it for photosythesis.
Foe plants they need water to survive or they will dry up and they need water for photosynthesis which is how they get their food. Animals need it to to stat hydrated and healthy or the will die of dehydration.
