Since large amounts of sunlight are required for this process, the answer is usually yes. There are, however, exceptions:

sometimes photosynthesis will take place in nights such as summer when it's still light about 11:00 pm because the sun is still there so the process can still continue, but in times like the winter when it gets dark earlier then it cannot continue to process.

Why do plants more sugar in them during daytime than at nighttime?

it is about the photosynthesis. It is happening only in the day time.

Why do plants have more sugar in the daytime than in the night?

Plants produce sugar from photosynthesis which is a process that converts the suns light in addition to water and CO2 into energy in the form of sugar. Therefore, plants only go through photosynthesis during the daytime because at nighttime there is no sun and the plant cannot go through photosythesis. Because photosynthesis happens only during the day, sugar is produced only during the day also.

When do green plants carry on respiration?

both photosynthesis and cellular respiration occurs during the day, however, during the night when there is no sunlight only cellular respiration occurs.

Why does photosynthesis only take place during day?

Because there is only sun during the day

Why does photosynthesis not continue during the night like cellular respiration does?

plants respire during the day as well the rate of respiration is lower than the rate of photosynthesis in the day

Why is the size of stoma smaller in the night?

stomata only open during the day and close at night becasue plants only photosynthesis during the day cos they need the sun which isn't visible at night.

When does photosynthesis happen night or day?

Most types of photosynthesis (C3 & C4) occur only during the day, however plants that use CAM photosynthesis open their stomata during the night to take in the gases essential for photosynthesis withoug losing the water in the cells. They then use the CO2 to produce glucose throughout the day.

When do plants do photosynthesis and respiration?

In general, green plants photosynthesize during the day or when light is on the leaves, and respire at night, or in the dark. As its name implies, photosynthesis is a light dependent process.

Can plant produce sugar at night?

When are plants most likely to give off greater amounts of oxygen?

During the day when photosynthesis is taking place and the stomata are open.

Why plants bloom only at daytime?

Plants bloom only during daytime for several reasons. First, plants need sunlight for photosynthesis, which produces the energy needed for the blooming process. This is especially true for flowering plants, which rely heavily on the sun's energy. Second, plants have adapted to the changing light conditions of the day and night cycle, and they have evolved to bloom in a certain period of time during the day. Lastly, blooming during the day allows the plant to attract pollinators, such as bees, with its brightly colored petals. There are several factors that make daytime the optimal time for plants to bloom: Sunlight is needed for photosynthesis, which produces the energy for the blooming process Plants have adapted to the changing light conditions of the day and night cycle Daytime blooming allows the plant to attract pollinators, such as bees, with its brightly colored petalsIn conclusion, plants bloom only during the day because they need sunlight for photosynthesis, have adapted to the day and night cycle, and need pollinators to be attracted to their brightly colored petals.

Do plants photosynthesize during the day and night?

Photosynthesis needs sunlight to take place so one could safely say no.
