Why do some Muslims sin even though they pray 5 times a day?

According to my point of view there are certain reason behind this unfortunately truth, it should be off lace of knowledge in people and they become misguided, lack of the deep knowledge in muslims, impacts of western society on muslim world,due to which people have lost their interest in their religion and they have get a diverted mind of this artificial world .we have an amazing example of our prophet muhammad (pbuh) which is a true guide line for us if we obey his way of living we will be protected from this sins which is avoided in Islam. ..(ALLAH says in holly Qur'an "indeed prayer prohabits immorality and wrong doing.

because they have low level of belief and so forget God when doing sin. there are ten levels of beliefs. and belief is after Islam.Quran says:

The desert Arabs say, "We believe." Say, "Ye have no faith; but ye (only) say, 'We have submitted our wills to Allah,' For not yet has Faith entered your hearts. But if ye obey Allah and His Messenger, He will not belittle aught of your deeds: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." [49:14]

There is no reason to believe that the fact that a person prays is truly indicative of a truly peaceful and loving heart. Many of history's greatest butchers held a vision of God or Spirits on their hearts and you need look no further than the Spanish Conquistadors, Islamic Fundamentalists, Zen Warrior Monks, and numerous others. The way of peace is difficult and not all of those who claim to be on the path through the apparent acts of contrition and prayer are necessarily on it. The Qur'an discusses such people at length calling them Munafiqin or Hypocrites.

One of the signs of hypocrisy is made clear in verse 3:167b "They (the Hypocrites) were nearer to disbelief that day than to faith, saying with their mouths what was not in their hearts. And Allah is most Knowing of what they conceal -" The hypocrite acts and says one thing but truly feels and acts differently in private. So it is the same with someone who is apparently pious but truly allows violence and hatred to fester within him.

Simply, because we are human. All human beings may commit sins even religious people of any religion. The point is to recognize your sin, admit that you made something sinful, repent and intend not to do it again, and ask God for forgiveness. The more you pray sincerely and faithfully the less you make sins. Sins vary from minor sins (as wasting your time in nonsense or the like) to big sins (as fornication, speaking wrongly about others during their absence, ...). Sure, praying faithfully and sincerely prevents you at least from doing big sins.
