I personally think that animals have big ears because they can hear carefully like if a predator is sneaking up to it's prey then they would be able to escape.

On a whole, the animals that have small ears live in cold places. They have adapted to have small ears to reduce surface area. The smaller the ear, the less skin is exposed to the cold, so the loose less body heat.
Large ears can serve two purposes.Predator species often develop large ears as these help them to detect prey. This becomes an evolutionary advantage is passed on to the next generations, because those who find it an advantage will be more successful hunters and will most likely have more offspring. The large ears of the parents become a genetic inheritance. Large ears also help prey animals to avoid predators by magnifying sounds. Other creatures use their large ears as a means of regulating their blood temperature - elephants are a prime example - as they can fan their ears back and forth and cool the blood vessels there. They have a greater percentage of their blood in their ears than animals with proportionately small ears.
elephants have large ears because in the hot African gaze they need to cool off so they flap their ears to keep them cool.
most animals have hair on their ears because the hair magnifies the ears' capacity to receive sound.. hair can pick up air vibrations better than just your bare skin.
All The Better To Hear You With !!!
Many animals have long ears, not for hearing but for a method of cooling.
Animals that can move their ears are able to more accurately determine the source of a sound. This is useful in detecting predators (or prey) and their location.
there are no animals that have ears on there sides unless they have a birth defect
Long ears are an advantage to a point. A wild rabbit or hare utilizes their ears not only for hearing, but also as a cooling mechanism.

listening to loud audio for a long period time can decibels your ears.
Because of the way we formed from our cousins. Which are primates which is scientifically proven.
because that's how god created them
They aren't long for any particular reason, they have adapted to being long to protect the inside of their ears

through their ears.
Some animals whose ears are bigger than human ears are horses, elephants, and some larger breeds of dogs.
Depending on the breed of dog, the ears will be held in different positions. Boston terrier, have narrow pointy ears set far apart on their head. Malamutes have strait rounded ears. Labradors have triangluar drooping ears. Greyhounds have the rosebud/folded ears (usually). Jack Russels have button ears. It really all depends on the individual.
animals can have holes for ears or can use smell if they don't have ears
Animals that have pointed ears usually can hear better. Animals that have floppy ears can't hear as well.
animals can have holes for ears or can use smell if they don't have ears
so they can hear danger.
There is some speculation of the origin of the phrase "pin your ears back". Some people think it originates from how animals pin their ears back when they are in attack mode.
