Pupdog, that indicates that the entire album has not been made available for sale on the iTunes Store, only some tracks. It is not common, but it can happen when one or more tracks have different ownership/rights arrangements.
Album if they are all from the same person or compilation album if they are from different artists.
When you pre-order an album on ITunes, the day the album comes out, the album is automatically downloaded to your iPod.
Albums bought from iTunes are downloaded from the iTunes store. You can burn the downloaded album on to a disc on your computer.
If your problem is that your album is separated and says that each featuring artist comes under a different album, you should just highlight all of the songs in the album (CTRL+click multiple songs) then right click on any highlighted song and choose "Get Info" then under the heading "Album Artist" type the name of the artists and all the songs will stay together. Hope this helped
an album on ITunes will be about £7.00 depending on how old it is. I bought an old one for £4.99
