On rare ocassions the temperature may drop below freezing briefly at night in the winter. Summers rarely see temperatures above 80 degrees although a temperature of 90 degrees is not unknown. The coastal deserts have their temperature moderated by cold ocean currents so do not experience the extreme temperatures of other deserts.
