- My ex husband did this all the time. It was a form of control as it rocks your world when the person you are married too tells you this. Its like walking on eggshells. Funny thing is, when I finally told him to get out after two years of listening to this, he begged for me for the next three years! I never took him back. I now see he did love me but was mentally screwed up and afraid so he felt he had to keep me down.
- Because they married for the wrong reason or reasons. They want out but don't want to be the one to leave. They crave attention, and being left even though they don't want to be in the marriage, will get them sympathy and lots of the attention they desire. They know they made a terrible mistake. But they want the partner to look like the bad guy.
