Why do some people go back and forth between being in love and not being in love with the same person?

I think this can happen most often when you are younger but I guess it can happen to anyone of any age. Sometimes people feel like they are in love when they really don't know the person well enough. When they really get to know the person they may not feel that love anymore. Then confusion sets in because you remember how the person was when you met and were getting to know them. You remember the feeling of love that you felt for that person at that time. As time goes by you start to question the feelings you have/had for that person. The result is, one day you feel like you love that person and another day, you feel like you don't. My belief is that if it is really true love, you will ALWAYS feel love for that person even after a long period of time. Your feelings will not waiver. You will be sure of how you feel with no question.
