Christians are seen by many groups to be intolerant of other peoples' beliefs and other peoples' moral actions. A lot of people consider Christians to be demeaning and judgemental of behavior that Chrisitianity condones. Also, if you look back in history there has been alot of turmoil in the Christian Church's past. Examples of this include the Inquisition and the Crusades.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Witch hunts, the Holocaust, the Inquisition, Crusades, condemning of all atheists and non-believers, condemning of other religions, sexist, self-centered (only way belief), giving people in Africa condoms induced with the AIDS virus, promotes religions violence and Christian supremacy. Just some to name.

Good question.

Answer:

While I have witnessed some professing Christians harmfully and maliciously judging (condemning) others... I have serious reservations that they were Christ's.

Many modern denominations of Christianity tend to skip step one of coming to Christ - repentance (being sorry for having disobeyed His Commandments, which is "sin," and desiring to keep them)... and go straight to "believing" on Him.

The trouble with this false Christianity is: If they haven't repented... what are they believing?

They are believing ON Christ... but they don't believe what He says.

"A new Commandment I give unto you. THAT YE LOVE ONE ANOTHER; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another." (John 13:34)

This is NOT a new Commandment, of course, but mere obedience to the old Ten. It's man's disobedience to the Commandments... sin... disrespect for God and man, that produces the harm and malice in the world.

Therefore, many "professing Christians" whose denomination has skipped "step one" toward salvation, repentance and obeying Christ's Commandments, go out into the world virtually unchanged... unconverted... not knowing Christ at all.

They have only experienced a passing wave of emotional sorrow elicited by the preacher's sermon for past human behavior, which doesn't last very long, until the next passing emotion strikes.

In their unconverted emotional state, they were told they are forgiven their sins... but have not learned the concept of the mercy that makes forgiveness possible. They see people around them who behave as they did before they were forgiven and, carnal mindedly, they openly condemn the behavior of the person.

The "unconverted convert," believing themselves to have shed that behavior, won't tolerate it in others and lets them know it: "Seek out the Lord, you vile sinner, or you'll burn in hell!"

The unassuming victim is shocked and offended by the verbal attack of this "Christian" - and Jesus takes the rap for another false conversion.

A True Christian knows Jesus better. If those around you don't rate Christ's mercy... NEITHER DO YOU!

No, don't condemn Jesus for their malicious behavior done in His name. Understand and know that these aren't Christians by assessing their works.

"Ye shall know them by their fruits... a good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit... every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." (Matt.7:16-20)

How do you tell your pastor that Muslims are not evil rather good people of god just like Christians?

Unfortunately, there are people who firmly believe in vast generalizations as long as they're made against someone else. There are pastors who insist that all Muslims are evil, and there are imams who insist that all Christians are evil. The truth is that Christians and Muslims are people. They have hopes and dreams, families and goals, and even very similar religions. Some are good and some are bad. We can't generalize. You can try to explain this to your pastor and have face-to-face discussions, but realize that some people can be very stubborn.

Do Christians need to destroy Islam?

A:Whatever answer I give will not suffice if you believe this should happen. So I should let you say whether Christians need to destroy Islam. Do you believe Christianity is a religion designed to cause suffering and evil? Do you believe that by creating untold suffering and evil, we can eliminate suffering and evil? Do you believe that Christianity can not survive as a faith if there are other faiths available for people to choose from? If the answer to any of these questions in 'No' then Christians do not need to destroy Islam. It is true that some Muslims have caused suffering and evil in the world, as have some Christians. This does not justify attacks on the good people who follow either faith.
