I call it more overprotective than strict. Some parents forget that their main job is to prepare their children for the outside world and what to do if something happens to them. Unfortunately, some parents "cling" to their children and can't let go out of fear of losing them.

∙ 13y agoMost strict parents think if they give you too much freedom and privacy you'll use it to do something you're not supposed to. They just wan to protect you, even though sometimes it's little too much.

If your parents let you and want a boyfriend then you should go for it, but if they don't let you then it will be worth the wait. It is not illegal to have a relationship at this age but your guardian may not allow this.

That's a big mistake. It can be difficult to decide which is worse - being too strict or not strict enough. Children have to learn they can't always have their own way all the time - there HAVE to be limits! If they can't take no for an answer, that's their problem, NOT their parents's!
