i believe the speakers are 6 by 4 inch. If you plan on replacing the speakers in them you will have to drill holes as the current screw holes are set in a triangle and as most new speakers come in a square hole design. i have a 1997 pulsar and in my car the positive was green and the earth was brown.
A mini saw-zahl will be the best tool to cut speak holes in your car.

The front and back speakers are 6x9, there are also speaker holes in the front dash on the left and right. The dash speaker holes are small, like 3 1/2 or 4 inch.
it is a 1991 handa accord dx and the holes for the speakers arent round or oval. i cut the carpeting off the holes and 6.5s wont sit down all the way. this car did not come with any rear speakers. is there a mount or a spacer that is used on like an lx model that came with rear speakers that i need?
You can build your own very loud bookshelf speakers by constructing small, wooden boxes. Holes are cut in them in the side of the speakers which will allow for sound to be amplified.

if u are fitting after market speakers it is important that u dont cut holes in parcel shelf it may attract a defect . generally spacers are fixed to shelf and speakers secured to them
the deck/roof enclosure just pops out with gentle prying around the egdes after that its a matter of getting the right size/ohm rated speakers and wiring harness adapters to make it goof proof, you may have to drill some holes if the mount holes don't line up, most aftermarket speakers use 4 mounting holes and oem use two on that model. but it isn't really all that hard to do.
6 inch. Anything larger and you have to start creating larger holes ;)
