Why do teachers encourage children to put a hand up?
Teachers encourage children to put their hand up because it is a way to teach them how they have to have patience. With children raising their hand they aren't disrupting class and learning how to wait their turn.
Children should never be put on an official diet. It is perfectly alright to encourage healthy eating and exercise, but kids shouldn't be told they are "on a diet". Substitute unhealthy snacks and sugary drinks for fruits, vegetables and fruit juices. Get kids outside and being active instead of sitting in front of a TV or computer after school.
Teachers like to know that students are attentive and taking in the material presented in class. Raising your hand to answer makes you an active participant in the learning process. It shows that you're interested and motivated. The amount you get out of a lesson depends on how much YOU put into it.
All experiences affect a child's behavior. From birth until school age, the parents, siblings, and other family affect children most. After children begin school, friends, classmates, and teachers have a greater impact. It is important for those around children to be positive and always put education first.
