Because you have to step on the brake pedal to get it out of park, doofus!
does your car has a separate fuse for the tail light? do the lights come on when you hit the brake.
The tail lights and plate lights are on the same fuse, if the tail light come on it is not the fuse. Plate lights are not checked that often and it is common for them both to be brunt out when they are noticed.
Begin I removing the tail light connector. Take hold of the tail light, push in and turn at the same time. The tail light will come on. Reverse the process to install your new tail light.
No. The one in the middle is a brake light, and should only come on when you put on the brakes.
Tail lights inop all the others are ok Break lights in the same socket are ok / No power to the tail light side of the socket
to change f250 tail lights lower tailgate on side of bed where tail gate sits when closed there are a couple of screws at tail light level remove these screws tail light will then come out of truck body bulbs are at back side of tail light assembly and can now be changed replacement is exact opposite of removal
First check the brake light fuse, if good, then test the brake light switch.
A short in the tail light circuit. Brake and turn are on another circuit. Dash light power is fed from the tail light fuse to the dimmer switch and on to the dash lights. Look for a short in the tail light wiring circuit. Also check the license plate light for a short as it is on the tail light circuit also. Had a car with blown fuse, traced the circuit for tail lights and found nothing. Jumped the fuse and burned out the wiring to the tail lights. Come to find out, the short was in the license plate light. Also a bad headlight switch can cause this. Both tail light circuit and headlight circuit go through the switch. Contacts for the tail lights may be bad (defective switch common).
Check the wire which supplies energy for tail lights (the junction between the trunk and the car body). If it's broken it will cause the check engine come on.
Check the ground on the light.
Open the tail gate and look inside at the side of the bed where the lights are on the side of the bed and you will see 2 small phillp screews. Remove them and the light will come out.
??? Your brakelights are only supposed to come on when using the brakes. Do you mean that your TAIL LIGHTS don't work? Hey Jose==Your TAIL lights may have a fuse blown or something could be wrong with the head light switch. You just have to check it out. GoodluckJoe The tail light bulb has two filaments in it. One for the tail light and one for the brake light. The brake light part is still connected but the one for the tail light is broken. All of this is inside the bulb. Happens all the time. Just need to replace the tail light bulb.
