the fans shouldn't come on after it overheats. they should come on just after it reaches optimum running temperature.
if it didnt do this, it would never reach the correct running temperature, & continuously run cold, which becomes expensive on gas & hard on your engine.
the fans are switched by a temperature switch, usually located around the thermostat housing, this switches the fans on when the engine is getting too hot to run efficient & as the temperature cools, it switches them off again to keep the engine at its correct temperature
if your engine is Actually overheating before the fans kick in, then the switch is likely to be either faulty, or incorrect, & switching at a too higher temp.
On the lower driver side of the radiator!
The A/C uses R-134A refrigerant.
Low coolant, failed waterpump, stuck thermostat, missing belt, inoperative fan, plugged radiator.
that would be in the overflow reservoir follow the hose under the rad cap and you will see it
hi . i also own a 1998 Pontiac trans sport i was having the same overheating problem. try replaceing the thermostat first .or like me replace the lower intake gASKET MINE WAS BAD!! IF YOU HAVE NO heat in the van and the temp gauge in the van keeps jumping up and down that's what it is
Pontiac Trans Sport was created in 1990.
first check your coolant level. then check to see if you have a leak, then check to see if you cooling fans are coming on then check if your thermostat is working.
TAke it to a garage and have someone look at it. The cooler for the trans may have ruptured and is leaking fluid in the rad and coolant in the trans.
Weight on my Pontiac LeMans Sport registration is 3800
No-one REALLY started sport it just became a general catergory
This is no question.....
It was started by the Greeks.
