"Blowing" FusesFuses and Circuit Breakers are safety devices designed and installed in electrical circuits TO PROTECT the conductors [wires] from short circuits and overload conditions which can cause extreme overheating that can result in damage to the insulation and the conductors, and worse, the possibility of a FIRE which could destroy the vehicle. When a fuse, and replacement fuses blow, especially if it happens repeatedly, is an indicator of an UNSAFE CONDITION in that circuit, usually a short. The proper "fix" is for a qualified technician, who knows what he/she is doing, to troubleshoot the circuit, find and identify the defect, and make proper repair [s], BEFORE replacing the fuse again [with the properly sized fuse]. Some ignorant few will suggest installing a larger fuse to solve the problem, BUT that will only amplify the problem, not solve it. Do not install a larger fuse in a misguided attempt to correct the problem. To install a larger fuse would almost guarantee damage to the wiring and an electrical system fire.
check each door to see if switch is damaged or grounded Check headlamp switch
make sure ALL the doors are closed
There is a switch for that. It is in the dash illumination brightness control switch.
If your courtesy lights are staying on with the doors closed and there is no door ajar warning light , check on your dash to the right of your headlight switch. There is a dimmer wheel switch for your guage lighting , if it has been rotated all the way up that turns on your courtesy lights when the doors are closed
Fix a "door ajar" on Chevy Impala 2003 . Still on doors closed.
Either the manual light switch is on or the door switch is damaged.
Yes. I have a 2004 Suburban with barn doors and I put these LED tail lights on them.Just do a Google search for Anzo 311003
no sears has not closed doors
First verify that you do not have the interior lights switched on using the panel (instrument illumination) dimmer switch. Verify that door switches are working normally and doors are closed. Then, if all of that is well and you do not have any damaged wiring, replace the BCM. Also, you could pull the fuse out, but then you wouldn't have any interior lights. Ditto if you pull the bulb out.
check either end of the dash when you open the doors the fuse panel doors are the pull type
check for a bad door switch.
you either have a bad door switch, any of them could be bad. or you have the lights physically turned on at the switch.
