this is due to the lenses in between the headlights, which cause the beam pattern to loose brightness and go yellow i.e. dim, even if you replace the bulbs the lenses will need replacing as this is an MOT failure. Once you have replaced either the lenses or the whole headlight unit, i would suggest getting builbs that are UV protected. (These are not standard bulbs from Ford) then they shouldn't burn out the lenses causing the yellowness or dimness. I had the same problem and changing the headlights and bulbs seemed to do the trick.
2 sliding bars hold headlight in remove and pull headlamp forward and out
They won't, no. The front panel, and wings (fenders) are different. IIRC the mondeo lamps are slightly larger.
I bought some replacement Headlamp units of eBay and found two ways to do it. 1.remove the bumper and you will be given all the access you need. 2.leave the bumper in place,CUT the headlamp frame in half!!!(by the bonnet release). 3.struggle to get to the awkward bolts behind bumper!!! I only discovered the two methods because of the condition of supply of my headlamps, they came already cut in half(frame that is) . Hope that helps.
undo the plastic screws on the grill and slide it out. There are two clips to pull out either side of the headlamp. Disconnect the wires at the back of the headlamp then pull the whole unit out. It is easy and takes about 10 minutes to replace
The switch that turns the headlights on. PULL it back once for front fogs(if fitted) and twice for rear fogs. This will only work with the headlights on though(sidelights or dipped) OK
Yes with the correct conversion parts anything it possible
There are 2 metal tabs above the headlamp assembly. pull them out completely and disconnect the multi pin connection. the whole light unit comes out and you can change the bulb easily.
It'll be a fault in the wiring at the dip stalk but you could check if there is a fuse in the dip circuit of your car which has blown (There should NOT be a fuse) It is also just possible that the dip filaments are gone on both lamps.
Your parking/ side light/headlights switch not only rotates but also pulls out towards you thus switching your rear fog lights on. simply push switch in the way.
depends on the shape of your mondeo
