Well, the gravity of the sun pulles the planets in. But you would probably think that the planets woukd just hit the sun. That is not true becuae the gravity of the planet keeps it away from the sun. But it can't leave the sun's gravitational pull, so it stays in orbit. If a planet or something else gets too close, it is ripped apart.

What is a system in which planets moons asteroids orbit a star?

A solar system

What is a moon and how does it move around the solar system?

Moons are approximately spherical objects which orbit planets and are smaller than the planets that they orbit, although they are still relatively large objects (so an orbiting dust particle does not qualify as a moon). Since moons orbit planets, their motion around the solar system is controlled by the planets that they orbit; planets orbit the sun, and planets take their moons with them.

Are the moons as old as the planets that they circle?

In most cases, the moons are about as old as the planets they orbit, perhaps slightly younger. Most objects in the solar system formed when the solar system did.

What is apart of the solar system?

The solar system consists of the sun, the planets that orbit the sun, moons, comets, asteroids, minor planets, and dust and gas.

Do most planets have moons that orbit around them?

Yes, most planets do have moons that orbit around them. In our own solar system, six out of eight planets have moons, and the dwarf planet Pluto also has moons. Only the two innermost planets, Mercury and Venus, do not have moons.

What planets in our solar system lack moons?

No satellites are known to orbit Mercury or Venus.

Do planets have satellites or moons which orbit them?

Not all of them. Six of the eight planets in our solar system have at least one moon.

What body of the solar system obits around the solar system?

All object except the Sun orbit round the Sun. The moons also orbit round their planets.

What is the definition of the solar system?

The Solar System refers to the Sun and the planets (and their moons) and the other bodies that orbit it... including the asteroids, meteoroids and comets.
