The Sony Reward points have always expired on March 31 for non Cardholders to allow you up to 120 days to use last years points. Points earned this year up until December 31 2013 will not expire until March 31 2014. Sony Card Holders have 5 years to use there points from the day earned but they also expire. It would be because they made a marketing decision to allow the points to reduce items prices only to a certain limit just like they require the purchase to be over $101 to use over 500 points for non cardholders.
only if the item costs over $101 and the points are not from Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune they are from Sony Rewards
All Sony Rewards points expire three months after the end of the calendar year in which they were earned, which is March 31 in the following year. They must be redeemed before then, unless the point earner has a Sony Rewards credit card from Capital One, which currently allows cardholders to roll over some or all of their earned Rewards points.
Go to the site and see if they have a procedure to redeem points
