DNA is a precious commodity and to prevent it from damage it should not involve in many process. On the other hand it contains the genetic code for production of proteins. To Protect DNA the genetic code is conveyed through the messenger called RNA. Another reason is to have an intermediat stage to control the production rate of the protein.

DNA is like coded instructions that tell the cells of an organism what to do. The DNA is copied to one of the three types of RNA (tRNA, mRNA, rRNA) so ''the instructions'' can be sent to the ribosomes of the cell so the ribosomes can make protiens for the cell.

because the DNA cant leave the nucleus and has to get transfered to a ribosome. that's where RNA comes in. its like a messenger

Why does DNA make RNA?

DNA makes RNA so then the DNA can replicate itself. RNA is typically single stranded copy, in a sense, of the DNA and there are two types: mRNA and tRNA.

Is RNA a disposable copy of DNA?

True. RNA is made from the DNA template and when it is no longer needed, it is broken down. However, if the DNA is disturbed, major problems can occur. What statement is true about RNA? One of the bases from DNA is replaced by uracil

Where is DNA changes to RNA?

DNA changes to RNA when the nucleus is going through protein synthesis. in order for your ribosomes to make protein they must copy a portion of your DNA, change it into RNA then translate the RNA into amino acid sequences which come all together to make a protein ...

What must happen to a DNA molecule before RNA ploymerase can make RNA?

The double strand helix is opened by enzymes called helicase and this allow the RNA polymerase to copy the DNA strand. The double strand helix is opened by enzymes called helicase and this allow the RNA polymerase to copy the DNA strand.

What is the importance of DNA in RNA synthesis?

The DNA serves as a temple for the RNA to be synthesized. DNA houses the coding sequences of the genes. RNA is made to copy these genes.

Why does DNA determine RNA base sequence?

RNA is actually a single stranded copy of DNA composed of ribonucleic acids, hence the name RNA. Genomic DNA is read by an enzyme called RNA polymerase which uses DNA as a template to make a corresponding RNA copy. The RNA transcript is recognized by ribosomes and is used as a guide to assemble amino acids into long chains called polypeptides or proteins. The letters (or bases) of the DNA corresponds exactly to the letters made in the RNA. A-->U C--> G
