The oil in a car is used to make sure that the pistons in the engine move easily and will not catch. If the engine does not have any oil it will cause the pistons to scrape on sides of the container (If someone has a better word please replace mine). This scrape will cause sparks and sooner or later it will cause the engine to break. Which is why it is always good to make sure there is enough oil in a motor.
You can check the motor oil or the transmission fluid.
no you check your oil with car off easier when car is cooled off
Check the oil after the engine has not been run for at least 30 minutes.
Check the oil level in the car.
Whatever oil you buy for the car(check for recommended oil thickness)will do fine.
If you car has been acting up, there are several things to check. Check the gas, the oil, and the transmission fluid.
oil will pour out. that's what the dipstick is for. Check it and if needed, drain some out.
Check the oil level with the engine off after it has not been run for 30 minutes. You will then get a very accurate reading.
It means low oil pressure. Or you have no pressure which means you may not have any oil in your car. STOP immediately, turn your car off. check oil to see if you have any.
Down on what? Engine oil, check the dipstick. Coolant, check the reservoir.
I would guess that it either needs oil, or at least an oil change. Do you ever check the oil? You should.
No, the check engine light has nothing to do with the oil level in the vehicle. The check engine light will come on when there is a problem with the emission system. The red oil warning light will come on if your vehicle is low on oil.
