It is caused by the difference in air temperature and the temperature of the carbon dioxide released from your mouth.

its called a 'vapour trail' it happens when the jet engines eject the gas from the rear of the engine and the gas reacts with the vapour (water vapour-like steam form a kettle) in the atmosphere. these vapours then go on to produce what we know as clouds when they build up in layers! (but different to the clouds made by the sun and water evaporation!!)

Light doesn't emit light, but other things do, like stars for example. Many things give off light, but white light is the only visible light, and is made up of many different colors, like a rainbow. The sun and other stars emit such light.
Smokestacks and automobile tailpipes in cities emit water vapor and tiny particles that stimulate that formation of clouds More
Because those trails are clouds. The airplane's wing sheds low pressure vortexes from their tips, the low pressure encourages condensation of water vapor to form the small droplets of water that make up clouds. The airplane's jet engines emit lots of water vapor in their exhaust. Often at the very cold temperatures where these airplanes fly (above 30,000 feet) the water droplets in these clouds freeze, becoming ice and making the clouds last much longer.
Planets cannot emit light. They merely reflect light from nearby stars.
