You could possibly still be tired. Maybe you didn't sleep a lot the last night or didn't sleep deeply enough. It could be medications or vitamin deficiencies. Also, some people need to sleep more hours than others.

The human body runs on a 23 hour circadian rhythm. That's why sometimes we feel tired and sometimes we feel awake even though we wake at the same time. We have this rhythm as it has evolved with the environmental situation that we are exposed to. If our planet had 48 hour days then we would have a different rhythm. We are a piece of the earth, another animal and we fit perfectly into it's structure.
