You have safety rules in a laboratory so that everyone in the laboratory will know what is needed to keep themselves and others from being injured while in the lab.

Also in the lab clinical non clinical it is OSHA inspected. Therefore, thou shalt not be causght with out your PPE(personal Protective Equipment), disposable, liquid resistant labcoat, gloves and protective shield between you and the samples that you are working with. Also the lab is a BIOHAZRD area. No public visitors are allowed in the area because of health hazards and HIPPA laws. There. Need I say more?
