I'd say you shouldn't diy stuff on your skin because it causes more harm than good. Regular fruits and vegetables on your skin can still carry bacteria, disrupt your PH levels and foods like lemons are way too acidic to use on your skin, all of this an lead to breakouts. Plus you'd get more nutrients absorbed in your skin if you ate the food rather than putting it on the face for a few minuets. :)
No vegetables change the color of your skin. However, if you eat a lot of carrots, sometimes your skin develops a glowing, orangy complexion. Or so I've heard.
