Your question is confusing, "...based on luck?"
I suspect that you mean that the problem is intermittent [sometimes it works when you turn the key to the start position, and sometimes it doesn't.
IF that's the case I suspect one, or a combination, of the following:
NO ONE can tell you precisely what the cause is without "troubleshooting" the entire starting system, but the above causes can result in the symptoms you describe.
You need to have someone who knows what they are doing to troubleshoot your starting system, find and identify the cause(s), and make proper repairs.
A bad alternator will have the effect of draining the battery, resulting in dim lights, trouble starting the car and the like. It would be best to replace the alternator as soon as possible and possibly obtain a new battery. This may vary depending on how much the bad alternator has drained it. You can get your alternator and battery checked any time at Auto Zone.
Have you checked you alternator?
form_title=Replace Car Alternator form_header=If you're having trouble with the alternator, you might notice problems starting the car or charging the battery. How old is the battery?=_ Has the car been making weird noises when you try to start it?= () Yes () No Is there a brand or aftermarket alternator you would prefer to buy for your car?= () Yes () No
the regulator in your alternator must be in trouble remove the alternator and take it to an alternator repair shop or fit a new alternator
could be the alternator or starter sounds like the alternator if the battery is gone flat get the alternator tested at auto parts or garage jump charging the battery might get you out of trouble for a bit
Could be the alternator is going bad and check the charge level of the battery. Check all the fluids of the vehicle. But mainly it could be alternator to check that start the car and then disconnect the negative wire from the battery if car dies then alternator is bad if its going then it could be something else.
This question is asked poorly. Are you having trouble starting your Hyundai, or having trouble with your crankshaft sensor? Asking your question correctly will get you the correct answer. If your car isn't starting, I would suggest looking over the cranking system. (Battery, alternator, starter etc)... To find out if your crankshaft sensor is a problem, you could use a computer diagnostic tool.
Could be alot of different things. But It sounds to me like the fuel filter is clogged..
YES. it will ruin your battery as the battery needs the alternator too recharge a full battery will last you 30-40 min maybe more or less depends.. it will drain your battery and make you stall (you mite be able too recharge later)maybe) if your alternator is bad YOU must get a new or used one ,its recommended if you get a new alt. get a new bat. as this will supply you years of trouble free from your car electrical issues.
trouble starting fiat pinto even with battery charged?
When your car is having trouble starting up or when you turn it up and you notice it struggling a little
Check your battery cables. I have replaced my negative cable twice now. It runs about 6 feet down underneath to the side of the block and it's a pain to get it tight because it's hard to reach the bolt. Until you get it good and tight, you may still experience trouble starting the van which acts just like a dead battery.
