because when you enter a mosque it is clean. And when you pray you have to take your shoes off because the holy prophet muhammed was wearing his shoes when he was praying and then angel gabriel came to him during his prayer and told him that you have to take your shoes off and he did.He did this because you walk on unclean ground and when you pray in the mosque you must be clean.:]
to show that you respect God and because your shoes are for outside to cover your feet not to walk in the mousque where people will sit prostrate and show respect to god
It's for the muslims to take their shoes off as it is respect to be in a mosque without shoes.
they must remove there shoes.
take off your shoes and wash
A non Muslim can enter a mosque, but should remove his shoes
it depends on the mosque you go to. The only rule is women should where a scarf to show respect, and NO shoes in the prayer hall
they are not ... if u mean why do Muslims take their shoes off before entering the mosque ( masjid ) then that's just because a mosque is the house of god and it should be respected and kept clean .. so u shouldn't walk with ur shoes on into the mosque to bcoz u step on all sorts of stuff in the street and u shouldn't drag them into the mosque and it's also a sign of respect to the place..and Allah knows best
We visited the beautiful mosque in the city center to admire its intricate architecture and peaceful atmosphere.
yes they do -------------------- yes they do but NOT as a religious ritual but only for hygienic reasons to keep the fine carpets/rugs clean and tidy. If the prayer hall is not carpeted and one's shoes are clean then it's permissible to go in the mosque with shoes. It's also permissible to pray in shoes if shoes are clean (don't have impurity)
A mosque is a holy place. It is where Muslims worship Allah. The mosque is a neat and purified place where one must enter without his shoes and then do ablution in appropriate manner from the ablution place and sit in discipline and humbleness in the mosque. Maintaining appropriate distance and alignment when offering prayers.
The mosques is an extremely sacred place for the Muslims. It is meant for worship of Almighty Allah, learning or reciting of the Qur'an, or remembrance of Almighty God. The Muslims keep it neat and clean. The Muslims come to pray, but they have to do ablution (wash their hands, mouths, nose, feet etc) before offering prayers. That is the purpose of washing area. It is NOT a part of the mosque. Shoe racks are for placing shoes as they may be dirty. Racks should be placed out of the Mosque Room.
They don't. The only requirement in Judaism to wash the feet before worship, is for the Kohanim in the Holy Temple (which is no longer standing). See Exodus ch.30. It is Muslims who wash their feet before entering a mosque.
The reason is actually more practical than it is religious. Shoes are taken off to keep the floors and carpets clean, which Muslims pray on. When praying outside, for example, one can keep his/her shoes on.
