You need 1 oxygen atom for every 2 hydrogen atoms. If you're getting your pure gases in tanks of equal pressure you will thus need twice as many H tanks as O tanks.

But because Oxygen Atoms weight alot more it will be a greater mass of O.

if you have to much hydrogen you would make an acid

In an electrolysis of water what produces more gas hydrogen or oxygen?

As each water molecule contains one atom of Oxygen and two atoms of Hydrogen you would expect electrolysis of water to produce twice as much Hydrogen as Oxygen.

What has more hydrogen distilled or tap water?

They have the same amount of hydrogen. All water molecules have two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom.

What chemicals were the products in the reaction in producing of hydrogen and oxygen gases?

This question answers itself. The products of a reaction PRODUCING hydrogen and oxygen are, well, hydrogen and oxygen! If you are asking what hydrogen and oxygen are made FROM, than the REACTANT is water. If a voltage is applied to water, hydrogen and oxygen gas are made.If you are asking what the product of a reaction is when hydrogen and oxygen are the REACTANTS, then the answer is also water.See the Related Questions for more information to the left of this answer.

Can you purify your water well with hydrogen peroxide?

No, hydrogen peroxide is H2O2, meaning in each molecule there are two hydrogen atoms and two oxygen atoms. Water is H2O, meaning that each molecules has two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. Hydrogen peroxide has different chemical and physical properties from water. It is more acidic, more viscous, and has a higher boiling point. It decomposes easily into water and oxygen and is a strong oxidizer.

Which atom in a water molecule has the greatest electronegativitity?

Hydrogen I'm sorry "youarewhatyoubelieveyouare", but this answer isn't correct. Oxygen has the higher affinity for electrons... that's why, in a water molecule, each hydrogen has a positive and the oxygen has a double negative charge... the oxygen is attracting more of the electronic cloud towards itself than the hydrogen...

Does water have more hydrogen or oxygen in it?

By number of atoms it has more hydrogen, by mass it has more oxygen. Each water molecule contains two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. However, a typical oxygen atom has about 16 times the mass of a typical hydrogen atom.

Why is water incombustable?

The bonds between the Hydrogen and Oxygen are strong and no more Oxygen can bond. (Combustion is rapid oxidation). If you separate the Hydrogen from the Oxygen (through pyrolysis for example) the mixture is explosive.A2. The hydrogen has already burnt to make water. It cannot be burnt again.

Which two elements make up three-fourths of the human body?

There is sixty percent water in your body. Water is made up of oxygen and hydrogen. There are double the number of hydrogen atoms or molecules as compared to oxygen in the water. But you have the mass of oxygen atom or molecule is 16 times more than that of hydrogen atom or the molecule. In case of water hydrogen to oxygen mass is one to eight, in proportion.

How is the formula for water different than the formula for hydrogen peroxide?

Water is H2O. Hydrogen peroxide is H2O2. Hydrogen peroxide has one more oxygen atom per molecule than water. The extra oxygen is what makes it a peroxide. "Hydrogen oxide" would be water. The extra oxygen also makes hydrogen peroxide much more reactive than water due to the unstable oxygen-oxygen bond.

Is hydrogen more soluble in water than oxygen?

YES. Oxygen is more water soluble than the Hydrogen, becoz as we see that the aquatic life is sustained only due to the presence of the oxygen in the water.

How can you tell there is more oxygen in hydrogen peroxide than in water?

In 1 mole of water, the total amount of oxygen is only 16g. But the amount of the same in 1mole of Hydrogen peroxide is 32g. So more oxygen is present in hydrogen peroxide than in water.

How are water and hydrogen different?

Water is H2O and hydrogen perioxide is H2O2 hydrogen peroxide has one more oxygen atom than water.

How are hydrogen peroxide and water different?

Water is H2O and hydrogen perioxide is H2O2 hydrogen peroxide has one more oxygen atom than water.

What contains two or more elements?

Water has Hydrogen and Oxygen in it.

What is the main compound in water?

I would guess that would have to be hydrogen since "H2O". 2 molecules of hydrogen and one of oxygen is needed to make water (of course you need more, but that is the compound)

Does hydrogen peroxide blow up in water?

No. Hydrogen peroxide is usually dissolved in water to make it more stable. The peroxide you buy at the pharmacy is 3% hydrogen peroxide and 97% water. Pure hydrogen peroxide, which is a dangerously strong oxidizer, can explosively decompose into water and oxygen.
