these are used in control circuits , where a temperature - sensing application,

is required to detect changes in temperature ;

the resulting change of resistance value in the resistor itself will reflect the temperature change .

thus a small change in temperature can be detected .

an application is within sensetive instrument systems which require a sensetive

temperature detection - method .

What are specifications of resistor?

The resistance, the precision of that value, the thermal or electrical environment, the style of indicating these values. There are wire-wound resistors, cracked carbon resistors, carbon resistors and so on.

How many resistors do they have to make to deliver 5000 resistors?

To determine how many resistors need to be made to deliver 5,000 resistors, we must consider production losses, defects, or any other factors that affect the final count. For example, if they expect a 10% defect rate, they would need to produce 5,556 resistors (5,000 divided by 0.9). Therefore, the exact number of resistors to be made depends on the anticipated yield or defect rate in the production process.

Do you need to put a shunt resistor to connect the ac voltmetr?

Shunt resistors are used with ammeters; voltmeters require series resistors.

Do the resistors lie wwithin the tolerance limits?

To determine if the resistors lie within the tolerance limits, you need to compare the measured resistance values of the resistors with the specified range provided by the tolerance. If the measured resistance values fall within this specified range, then the resistors are within tolerance limits.

Why do some resistors so much larger than other?

Resistors vary in size primarily due to their power ratings and intended applications. Larger resistors can dissipate more heat without overheating, making them suitable for high-power applications. Additionally, size can also be influenced by construction materials and design; for example, wire-wound resistors tend to be larger than film resistors due to their manufacturing processes. Ultimately, the size of a resistor is determined by the balance between its electrical characteristics and thermal management needs.

Where is the resistor located?

There are many resistors, need to know which one and which vehicle you have.

How are parallel resistors connected?

If you need a resistor of a certain value, and you have no resistors with small enough values, you can create the one you need by connecting several of those you have in parallel. The effective net resistance of resistors in parallel is always less than the smallest individual. And the more resistors you add in parallel, the smaller the net effective resistance becomes.

How does active termination improve upon passive termination?

In active termination scheme it removes the thermal noise which results in the passive termination due to the end resistors..

What is thermal agitation noise?

Thermal agitation noise, also known as thermal noise, is random electrical noise that is present in all electronic devices due to the movement of charged particles at room temperature. This noise can affect the quality of signal transmission and is an inherent limitation in electronic systems. Devices like resistors, capacitors, and semiconductors all generate thermal noise.

What qualifications do you need to be a thermal insulator?

Low thermal conductivity!

Why do resistors need to be precise?

A: Resistors are never precise they normally come with 5% tolerance. However if precise tolerance is needed one can purchase a precise resistor down to 0,01% or even lower % but these resistors are special and made special for each application

What are those materials of resistors?

most of the resistors commonly used are carbon resistors
