Vili are folds in the walls of the gastrointestinal tract (intestines) which increase surface area. Basically, as food and stuff you've ingested is pushed past, all these little folds (vili and microvili), they absorbs the nutrients you need in your body. And being folded lots of times means greater surface area and therefore its easier to get the nutrients!
villi
The three types of villi are: Intestinal villi-microscopic finger like projections on the inner surface of the ileum. Chorionic villi-villi on the outermost membrane of the foetus. Arachnoid villi-villi on the arachnoid membrane of the brain.
A micro villi is a micro villi
Villi. Most absorbtion occurs in the ileum btw.
Villi is plural. One is Villus, many are Villi.
The Cerebrospinal Fluid is absorbed into the venous blood in the dural sinuses through the arachnoid villi. Arachnoid villi connect the subarachnoid space to the superior sagittal sinus.
-Villi The first answer is correct in the villi are very small finger like projections in the intestines but I would suspect the question refers to the appendix.
If you mean the hairs on the cells they are villi and micro-villi
The finger like projections that line the small intestine are called, Villi.
Villi. Also the Villi are covered in Micro-villi - just the same but smaller. The function of them is to increase surface area for absorption.
Damaged villi of the small intestine will heal. Factors that need to be taken into consideration is how long the villi have been damaged, age of person and has reason for damaged been eliminated. A younger person with villi that has not been damaged long will see healthier villi in days to weeks. An older person with the same conditions may take months to a year to heal.
Osmosis occurs in the small intestines which contain the villi. There are blood vessels connected to the villi so nutrients/glucose in the small intestines diffuses through the semi-permeable membrane of the cells in the blood vessel.
