Some chemicals exist naturally or are fine to be digested. These sometimes go right through the body, while other times they are broken up and can be used in the body. Harmful chemicals, however, when ingested, can cause serious problems. The effct varies based on the chemical, the concentration, and how much was consumed. It can cause anything from feeling sick to vomitting to internal bleeding to allergic reactions to death.

I guess they put chemicals in food to add the taste. Example when you go to McDonald and you order a burger and you try to do a homemade burger it won't taste the exact same. But I would recommend to make a homemade burger its much more fun then to sit in the drive thru and wait

Do they put chemicals on food cans so they won't expired?

They paint the inside of some food cans so the food won't dissolve the can - tomatoes are a prime example; the inside of a can of tomato product is always painted white - but there's no need to put chemicals on the outside of a can to keep the food from going bad because the can itself does that.
