Hitler is possibly the most evil person ever to come to international prominence. Although not everything he did was evil, he started a war that killed an incalculable number of people and destroyed cities and countries, spread hatred, unbelievable cruelty, and even tried to totally exterminate an entire ethnic group, and completely subjugate and enslave others. To forget that this had happened or, pretend that it did not happen, would be criminal. If we do not learn from the past, we are doomed. For better or for worse, the world would be an entirely different place had Hitler not been born. No one individual has ever had that sort of impact on the world.
