I am not a parent, but I study child development. I am far too young to be a parent, but the subject really interests me, as it is fascinating to see how human develope, we were all children once. But also because I would like to gain experience of working with children, as this is one of my preferred career choices.

Why we need to study child and adoloescent development?

How people grow and learn is important to know because you can know what stage of development they are in and if they are developing at a proper pace or are behind. Children don't develop all at once and they go through stages of development. If you are trying to teach a child something before they are ready they will have a hard time learning it and become frustrated. This is not their fault because they aren't ready because the brain develops in stages. This is one reason why you need to study child development. Just knowing how your own child develops as a parent can help you understand your child and know what they can or can't do.

How do you child study for level 6?

I am assuming you are in college and the child study is part of your child development module, for our child study we had to do 6 observations on a target child on 6 different areas of learning eg: cognitive, social and emotional, physical etc and evaluate them and make recommendations for the child's next step of learning. then at the end you have to do an integrated piece and give a picture of the child's holistic development from what you learned about him/her during the child study, hope this helps. Best of luck.
