People in Brazil chose to live by the coast for the obvious reasons, because they could swim and there were less mosquitoes, etc. Brasilia, Brazil's capital city was built in the jungle to attract the over populated in habitants of the seaside to live there but their plan failed, nobody wanted to live in the jungle.
