In the 17th and 18th Centuries it was believed that diseases were caused bad air known as miasma. It was thought to contain poisonous decomposed matter.

legend has it that the survivors {along with the trojan leader Aeneas} did. Unfortunately most of what actualy happened has been mixed in with stories. Also the trojan war was 1250 BC. Rome was founded in 753 BC so there is a large gap in between dates. It is more likely Rome was founded by other people.
