i think they can. my pet tortoise went over to a yellow toy, looked at it, then walked away. then he went to some grass, looked at it, then ate it. this should clarify it. ------------------------- Yes, they are attracted to the brightly colored flowers in the desert. I have a tortoise that loves to eat bright dandelions. He can see them from quite a ways away, and will traverse great lengths to get to them.
im pretty sure it doesnt matter its just that some nectar feeders are attracted to brighter colors like hummingbirds who love red the most but also like other bright colors i dont think they visit dull colored flowers

there are many flowers in the tundra. there is the Alutian wormwood,bering sea douglasia,sessile leaved scurvy grass,aleuntain shield fern,calders lovage,tundramoss,tundrawillows,bear berries,and thats all i can think of.I hope it helped! good luck!
