Not all medication injections go to the veins. However, venous route is one of the fastest way the circulate the medication through your system. This is because the medication would go from the veins to your heart where it will be pumped to the rest of your body pretty quickly.
metacarpal or median cubital vein or forearm

There really isn't a limit to the number of subcutaneous or intramuscular injections you can get. It can, however, be difficult to find a good vein for more than a couple of intravenous injections.
Injections can be intravenous (directly into a vein), intramuscular (directly into a muscle) and subcutaneous (under skin).
IM means intra muscular, thus stick it a muscle and make sure you don't end up in a vein. If you pull back on the syringe and get blood you found a vein and need to try again
Injections just under the skin, so that you can see the needle while the medication is injected, are referred to as Intradermal. The PPD test for tuberculosis is administered this way. Injections administered into the layer below the skin are called subcutaneous. Insulin is administered this way. Injections which deliver medicine into a muscle are referred to as Intramuscular. Most immunizations are given this way, as are most antibiotic injections. Injections which deliver medicine directly into the bloodstream are referred to as Intravenous.

No but I have used B-12 on a sick patient before but am not sure if it helped.
You use your thumb to keep the vein from "rolling" while doing a venipuncture.
Spider veins are treatable, although it requires lazer treatment or injections into the veins to make them collapse. It is costly. You can look locally to find a vein center near you.
