Either the belt needs replaced or the tensioner is bad.
Occasionally the gas pedal will have some resistance when you press it. You could check and lube gas pedal, gas cable, and throttle itself.
Either your fan belts are going bad or your alternator is going out. If you take a bar of soap and press it against the belts while the car is running, the squealing should stop.
