Why do your blinkers work but not your brake lights?
Blinkers can work without brake lights. Brake lights are activated by a switch that is switched by the brake petal and the turn signals are acivated by your turn signal switch on your steering column. The two are two separate circuits. I suggest you check out the switch on your brake pedal to see if it is working properly. It must have 12 volts applied to one side when it is not acitvated and 12 volts should be on both sides when it is activated. When the 12 volts is on both sides of the brake switch, it should apply 12 volts to your brake lights and then they should come on.
Check the bulbs. These bulbs are a combination tail light & brake light. Even though the blinkers work, the brake light part might be burnt out. If these are okay, check the brake light switch. It's mounted on the brake pedal. Are the brake lights on all the time or they don't light up at all? if all the bulbs are fine, its more than likely the stop-light switch underneath the brake pedal.
You need to know if there is a relay for the brake and blinkers for a 92 s-10 blazer my blinkers and brake lights dont work?
I am currently having the same problem you are having check the fuse to see if it is blown the blinkers and brake lights are on the same fuse my system has a short in it somewhere and is popping the fuses I am in the process of running new wires since the wonderful people at Chevy ran all the wires thru the frame and you can't access them
What could cause left brake light and tail light to not work when brake pedal is depressed with head lights on while with head lights off brake lights and blinkers work ok on 1988 ford econoline van?
What fuse is to be replaced when the Brake Lights don't work on an 89 Ford Econoline Blinkers Hazards and Park Lights work?
The problem might not be a fuse. There is a switch which activates the brake lights when the brake pedal is depressed. This switch is usually mounted under the dash, near the top of the brake pedal lever. Insure that this switch is free to move physically, and test it to see if it is switching electrically.
Eagle talon 1995 brake lights are not working But the lights work when the light are on why dont the brake lights come on?
it could be a plunger relay switch or pressure switch as some people call them. It will be mounted on the brake pedal arm. but i would check the bulbs first because if it is a dual filament bulb it could have gone out on one filament and not another. if your tail lights work and the blinkers work while the tail lights are on then most likely it is the switch on the pedal

1997 Lumina. Hazard lights cruise control blinkers tail lights work. Brake lights do not. Replaced activating switch and turn signal switch bulbs fuse checked for corrosion and broken wires. Pls help?
What would cause the brake lights not to work and the blinkers in the back not to work when everything works fine up front?
What year/make is the vehicle? Something is suspect here. If the blinkers in the rear won't work, then the ones up front won't work either because there won't be enough load on the system to cause the flasher to work. What I think, is that you probably have one of your 1157 bulbs put in wrong and it is screwing up the system in the back. In fact, if you hit the brakes, I bet…
My brake lights wont work on my 93 ford explorer but when I turn my head lights on all the lights work just not the brakes?
The brake lights are an entirely separate system from the head/tail lights but have a lot in common with the blinkers and four way flashers. TO test the bulbs try the blinkers. If you get the same bright-red lamp that your brakes should use, your lamps are OK. Look under the dash at the top of the brake pedal. There is a switch on the pedal connected to two wires in a black jacket. That…
