She assumes that because you're a man, you are not allowed to watch cartoons
Probably because you are the first generation that do so. It wasn't an option when she was young. To her watching cartoons is something kids do.
We have no idea whether your friends are actually mean to you or not. But it appears that they are trying to show you a different view of life. You can get past cartoons and engage in other things. You don't have to give up cartoons, but your friends seem concerned that you are giving up on other good things. Assume their interest in you, and assume good-hearted intentions. Join in with them; you may discover new things worthy of your time.
Cartoon is not just for little kids, its a matter of interrest....there may be catoons just for kids if you watch ,they'll think you're being childish, but there're some cartoons for adults n teenages too !
Most people tend to stop watching cartoons past the age of 18
Because it is a reasonable assumption. Most people have grown out of cartoons by the age of 20. They may watch them occasionally but to do so on a daily basis shows a lack of maturity.depends but not all the time my mom she watches family guy and she is 50 lol
Cartoons are usually graphically designed so that they may steer clear of reality (unreal objects, unreal values, unreal tactics), while facing reality and life's responsibilities is much more pragmatic and manlike. "Adult swim" cartoons are most always watched by unemployed men or teenagers trying to kill time, while children's cartoons have too much fantasy and little moral.
Because at that age 20 year olds should be mature i think its nothing wrong with it but some adults feel like other adults should be an ADULT get it?
They assume that adults who watch cartoons are children in an adult's body
because mainly kids wach cartoons and bacause kids watch cartoons adults are more likely to act like kids
Most likely because most cartoons are targeted for children. In addition, there was a large boom of children's entertainment in the 70's-90's, where most cartoons were targeted to children.
At 24 most people would expect you to have a job and be busy doing stuff. In my opinion, it depends on the cartoon. If, for example, it was a mature anime I would assume most people would take this as a hobby but if it was a children's cartoon, most people would probably find this strange. The world is changing though and I think that more people are hanging on to childhood favorites. (like an adult who is still in love with Elmo or similar). I think that the reason people would laugh is not really that you watch cartoons, it's that you watch them everyday when society believes at that age you should be working or studying. And if they still laugh at you watching cartoons, I say don't let it get to you. Everyone has a hobby, yours could be watching cartoons - understandable.
