Your wheels either weren't balanced correctly by the tire place, or you have a bent wheel . . . but this should have been noticable with your old tires.
Also, some tire have a radial belt that slipped a little to the side during manufacture. This tire should be replaced on the warrantee.
try new tires and a front end aiighnment.
it depends on when it vibrates. If it vibrates when driving then it is most likely that you need to get an alignment or your tires balanced or maybe even loose lugnuts on the tires. If it is only when braking then you probably need new rotors or you need to get yours resurfaced.
The speed is electronically controlled by the PCM. Its set at the factory depending on the tires installed on the car when new. This is so you cannot over speed the tires. So, read the speed rating off the tires on the car like 97S, H or Z etc. Deduct about 20% and this will give you an approximate idea how fast it will go per the factory defaults. My Deville shuts down at 112 m.p.h. because it has comfort tires not performance tires.
The shop you took it to may not have balanced them properly. Also could be the wheels are not torqued correctly. Be sure to watch next time.
new tires. If the tires brake, you'll need it
If it is something that you can feel through the steering wheel, and it either gets worse as you pick up speed or kicks in regularly around the same speed, then your front wheels are probably out of balance. Maybe you had new tire or tires put on and they weren't balanced by whoever put the new tires on. Take it to Pep Boys or a tire dealership and ask them to balance the front wheels; it's not that expensive, and it's cheaper than my other idea, which is your motor mounts are shot or, even worse, your flywheel is out of balance. But, in my experience, it's always been the wheels out of balance. Phil
