Why do your rear brakes squeak or hang up on your 1999 Subaru Forester?

Squealing brakes in a sign of worn out brake pads or shoes. Can also be leaking wheel cylinder. Suggestion: Remove the rear wheels and find out what is going on. defective brakes is a safety hazard.
