Actually the wrinkles fingers get when in hot water or while handling soap or detergent for a long time is not due to skin shrinking, or even drying up like a mummy for that matter.
Oil and water don't mix, and skin has a protective layer of oil which hot water and soap ends up removing. Hot water because the surface tension is lessened, so more weak intermolecular bonds can be formed and soap because it contains big molecules which due to surface area also forms many intermolecular bonds. Both end up solubilizing the oil, which removes it when the water is washed away.
What happens the the fingers when they wrinkle is the water goes into the through the skin, and swells it slightly.
It is an evolutionary tactic to grip things better when in water and has stayed with us till today even though we don't need it that much
when we wash clothes our finger cells are dipped in hypertonic solution, so they loose water by osmosis and shrink.

Your finger does not shrink. Your skin soaks up water and gets larger. It makes it look like your fingers shrink but its just your skin that is larger.
yes skin can shrink because if your body grow alot and if your skin is tight already your skin will shrink and you will start growing cuts.
Yes. It moults as its skin is too big for it as it grows. This is the same as us. When we are a baby,we wear bab.y clothes. As we grow,we can't wear the same clothes anymore.
THIS HAPPENS BECOZ OF THE PROCESS OF OSMOSIS...WEN OUR SKIN CUMS IN CONTACT WID WATER THE WATER FRM OUR HAND MOVES OUT THRU THE SEMI PERMEABLE MEMBRANE(SKIN) SO DATS Y OUR HANDS SKIN SHRINKS..... our skin of finger shrinks when we do the same, as when we wash the clothes the water around the fingers or hand behaves like hypertonic solution and water starts coming out from finger(cell) to out side region causing the fingers to shrink.

Yes, The skin will begin to cover the hole causing it to "shrink" usually you should have no problem reinserting the jewelry as its not cartlidge just skin which can be stretched
They don't really shrink. The skin is very elastic, but when it's cold, it contracts in order to preserve heat.
the hopi made their clothes from cotton and wool and buffalo skin
seal skin and bariku skin.
